Josh Kahen will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall as a Business major. He is the founder and owner of JP Photos LA, an event and portrait photography company that provides service to many people in the south bay with his quality work and reasonable prices. During High School, Josh served as the Head Photographer of Peninsula’s yearbook and also was the President of the Photography Club. He enjoys capturing people’s raw candid expressions at scenic spots such as Terrenea and Malaga Cove.
Aly is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula high school. She has been practicing her photography skills for over 3 years through her position as a photographer for her school yearbook and enjoys having fun photo shoots with her friends. Aly would also love to tutor freshman and below in all subjects, however she specializes in biology. She has completed Biology Honors and AP Biology, receiving A’s each semester. Aly has lots of experience working with children through the Friendship Foundation and other organizations. She babysits for children of all ages.
Kyla McLay is a photographer at PVHS. In the fall she will be a senior taking AP Photography and also act as Historian of her schools Heal the Bay Club. Kyla has won multiple awards for her photography including some local competitions and the recent United Nations World Oceans day photography contest in the youth category. She also shoots for Cabrillo Beach yacht club, photographing junior sailors and other events. Although her favorite subjects to photograph are marine life and other water activities, she can be hired for all different types of photography.
Mati Yang will be a senior at Peninsula High this fall. Previously, she has worked at Rolling Hills Country Day School as a junior counselor, which has helped her gain much experience with child care and further enriched her love for children. Mati is very passionate about photography and worked to become the Head Photographer of yearbook in the upcoming year. She enjoys street photography and attended the School of the New York Times for photojournalism this past summer.
Julia is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. Photography has been a hobby of hers for many years now. She was appointed as ASB historian as a sophomore, documenting the events at PVPHS. She was also a photographer for her school’s yearbook in her sophomore year. In her junior year she will be the photographer in chief of her yearbook. Also as a junior, she will be ASB’s commissioner of technology, creating videos with her beloved camera once again. Julia loves meeting new people and exploring new places near and far. In her free time she enjoys reading, drawing, spending time with friends and family, and of course, photography.
