Hanser Oh is a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, where he is a member of Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Link Crew, and Varsity Soccer. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction, National Merit Semifinalist, and he has received a 1540 on the SAT. He can tutor math (up to AP Calculus BC), chemistry (up to AP), and Spanish (up to 4AP). He also offers tutoring in Math and Chemistry SAT subject tests. In addition to academics, Hanser also offers private soccer training.
Arpit Jalan will be attending UCLA in the fall! He graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, where he was a captain of Academic Decathlon and part of the Math Honors Society and Social Science Honors Society. He received a 1570 on the SAT and is a National Merit Semifinalist. He can tutor Computer Science AP, Math up to Calc BC, Chemistry up to AP, and Physics 1 and C AP. He has also received an 800 on the Math 2, Chemistry, and US History subject tests. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family!
Fiona is currently a Senior at Peninsula High School. She specializes in English and History subjects. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Pen, for this upcoming school year. She has participated in MUN, Varsity Choir, NEHS, NSSHS, and Link Crew programs on campus as well. Outside of school, she is a host for The Panorama Newspaper podcast, and volunteers with The PressFriends organization. Last summer she volunteered abroad with The Dream Project at summer educational programs in the Dominican Republic, where she had to watch over children from the ages of 3-14 in a variety of subjects, including Arts, Sports, and English lessons. She also has extensive experience babysitting during the day/night.

Joy is a sophomore honors Biochemistry Major and Environmental Science minor at Loyola Marymount University. At Palos Verdes High School, she was a board member of NHS, part of MUN, Science Research (Stockholm Junior Water Prize), Palos Verdes Assembly, a Junior Docent at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, and an education interpreter at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Sophia is a very hardworking and dedicated student. She is a rising junior and currently has a 4.8 gpa. Sophia is very committed to her studies. She has taken 8 honors/AP classes during her two years at Pen, and has received straight A’s. She was a photographer for Pen’s yearbook her sophomore year, and will continue it throughout her junior and senior years. Sophia will be a Link Crew leader this upcoming school year, as well as a member of Pen’s Song team for her third year. She will also be a member of PAC (principals advisory council) for her third year at Pen. Sophia is a part of PVNCL, and volunteers at several philanthropies a year. One of her favorite philanthropies is the Boys and Girls Club of San Pedro. She loves volunteering with the children at this program. Hi! My name is Sydney Choi and I recently graduated from Peninsula High School. I will be attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying sociology and planning on also studying business. At Peninsula, I was involved in ASB, Song/Spirit Team, Model UN, and TSA (Technology Student Association). I am pretty flexible when it comes to tutoring kids in certain subjects. I can tutor in Math, English, and Science. I love working with and meeting new people! In my free time, I like spending time on the beach and going on spontaneous adventures!
Lauren Woodward will be attending UCLA in the fall as a Biology major. She graduated from PVPHS with a 3.98/4.78 GPA and received a 36 on her ACT. She received 5s on the AP Calculus AB, AP Literature, and AP Spanish Language and Culture exams. At Peninsula, Lauren was a member of the Math, Science, and Spanish Honor Societies, as well as a member of the Cross Country team. Rianne Aguas is an incoming freshman majoring in Communications at USC. She recently graduated from Peninsula High School with a 3.9 unweighted and 4.7 weighted GPA. She loves English and writing, and in high school served as the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper and was also a member of the National English Honor Society, MUN, and Link Crew. Outside of school, she volunteered for PressFriends, a non-profit that helps improve children’s reading and writing abilities, and served as the Vice President of Editorial. Also, she worked as a tutor at Kumon where she worked one-on-one with students to develop their oral reading and comprehension skills. She placed regionally in 2018 and 2019 for writing and creating a children’s storybook at the National TSA Competition and won nationally in 2019. She loves working with others and can help students with various subjects, writing, and public speaking.
Ian Miller is a Senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, where he is a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew, the school track team, and is on the Math Team board. He can tutor math (up to precalculus honors), chemistry, and Spanish (up to 4AP). He has received a 800 on his math subject test and a 1510 on the SAT. In addition to academics, Ian also offers private music tutoring for trombone, flute, and piano.
Hello!! Rachel is a incoming senior at Peninsula High School and she spends her time babysitting, volunteering at the aquarium, playing volleyball and studying! She has taken honors and AP Chemistry and US history and loves English as well. She plays Varsity volleyball at Pen and has been playing for 7 years both with school and club.
Shefali Mistry will be attending CAL Poly Slo in the fall! She is passionate about English and French and enjoys studying these subjects. Shefali was the president of the French National Honor Society and was also a member of the English National Honor Society. Apart from this, Shefali was involved in PVPHS’s Associated Student Body (ASB) where she served as the Commissioner of Sound. She was also co-president of PVPHS’s The Look Club. Regarding English and French, Shefali has taken AP Literature, AP Language, and French 4 AP.
Owen Ralbovsky will be attending Cornell University in the fall where he will be studying computer science. He graduated from PVPHS where he was on the board for Science National Honors Society, and participates in the National Honors Society and Chinese National Honors Society. Owen spent his summer at Boeing as a software engineering intern. He received a 1560 on his SAT, an 800 in Math 2, and is an AP Scholar with Distinction. He can tutor Computer Science AP, Math (to Precalculus Honors), Chemistry (to AP), and Physics 1 (to AP). He has received 5's in all the subjects he can tutor. Fun fact, Owen is half Chinese and half Caucasian.
Hi my name is Marcus Kim and I’m entering my Senior year in high school at Peninsula. I’m involved in things such as Model United Nations, Technology Student Association, Mock Trial, cross country and tennis. My focus in high school is English, Law, STEM and Public Speaking, and would love to help students become better at such subjects. I was on Varsity tennis my freshman and sophomore year at Peninsula, and have been playing since I was in the 3rd Grade. I’d love to help students with things such as English, STEM, public speaking, and tennis.
Lorhen Domondon is a recent high school graduate from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She will be attending Loyola Marymount University where she will major in Liberal Studies so that she can become an elementary school teacher. She loves taking care of kids of all ages and can tutor in French (up to A.P) or A.P US history. In high school she was involved in activities like Link Crew, ASB, and the Song/Spirit team. Lorhen also loves doing artistic activities and meeting new people!
Jonah spent countless hours studying extensively in all of his courses during his high school career at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. During his time there he scored a 1470 on the SAT and had a GPA of 4.2 during his college application process. This, along with strong college essays, lead to his acceptance at the University of Southern California where he is currently studying international business administration. Additionally, he also has prior experience tutoring and chauffeuring one of the PVPHS faculty’s children. Above all he is most proud of his success in school which he balanced with his personal life. This gave him the opportunity to do the things he enjoyed during high school and he is eager to help other students accomplish their own goals so they can achieve their own balance for themselves.
Hi! I’m Anna Mytko and I’m currently a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. I have been involved in several school activities including Teen Court, Literary Magazine, Latin National Honor Society, and Newspaper. My two favorite subjects are English and History, and I have always enjoyed both reading and writing. I am a published author, with one of my essays in a book created by the Library of Congress Center for the Book. Outside of school I have been playing club soccer for 11 years and have played Varsity soccer as well. I am also a member of the Peninsula Chapter of National Charity League, and have volunteered over five hundred service hours in high school so far.
Cole is a junior at the University of California, Berkeley studying both Economics and Data Science. He is originally from La Jolla, CA and has found a true passion for tutoring high school students throughout the last four years. In his free time, Cole enjoys watching the San Diego Padres and eating cultural dishes prepared by Ben Sacks (fellow Student Wave tutor).
Julia Gazdik is currently a senior at PVPHS. She enjoys playing volleyball, babysitting, and volunteering for the community. She was a member of the leadership program ASB and currently participates in the National Honors Society. Academically, Julia has taken honors and college classes throughout High School and has helped tutor younger children in all subjects. She has played volleyball for six years and was the Team Captain of the Junior Varsity team. Julia is great with children and loves to help others succeed!
Paulina will be a rising senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She is an AP and honors student who enjoys challenging herself. Avery Simonian currently attends Palos Verdes High School and has been dancing since she was three years old. She is currently a member of National English Honors Society, California Scholarship Federation, as well as the Principle Advisory Counsel. Avery has been involved with theater since she was ten and has been given many leadership positions such as Assistant Director, Dance Captain, and Senior Counselor at a performing arts summer camp she participates in every summer.
Erica Wan is a rising senior at PVPHS. During this global pandemic, she has started tutoring many kids on different subjects and has gained experience with tutoring throughout the time. She maintains a 4.8 weighted GPA, scored a perfect score on my Chinese SAT Subject Test. Erica has earned AP Scholar wish Honors recently and became the VP for CSF and Secretary for Science NHS. She is also a competitive runner on our varsity cross country team, a part of the TSA team for two years, and has played the piano since she was 4. She has just finished her college essays and has experience with brainstorming ideas and Erica believes that she can help those who are stuck during the essay writing process. Lastly, Erica has great experience with kids from taking care of her baby cousins and she can always make it a fun time when hanging out with kids.

Sophia is an incoming junior double majoring in Human Biology and Earth Science with a pre-medicine emphasis at USC, who dreams of going into pediatrics. She has been passionate about learning since high school (Peninsula), where she graduated with a 3.93UW/4.7W GPA, a 35 on the ACT, and a 750 on the SAT math II exam. In addition to earning these scores, she worked as a tutor at Kumon and as a private tutor for a fourth grader. In college, she has earned straight A’s in organic chemistry, general chemistry, calculus, statistics, and general physics. She can oftentimes be found at Martin Luther King Elementary School where she teaches weekly lessons and creates science experiments for fourth grade students, and it is her utmost pleasure to instill excitement about learning in her peers.
Chrislyn is a freshman at USC studying Business Administration. She is both kind-hearted and responsible, having been a part of Palos Verdes Peninsula High School's Link Crew (commissioner), Coed Choreo (captain), National Honor Society (board), and Baking Club (founder). She loves working with kids and students alike and can tutor all subjects. Chrislyn has experience tutoring AP Psychology and Geometry Honors, as well as private dance lessons. She is also fluent in Mandarin if translation is needed for your student. She is looking forward to working with you and your child!
Julianna Panetta is an incoming senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, where she has an unweighted GPA of 4.0. She is involved in ASB, Yearbook, Model UN, Track & Field, Spanish NHS, Science NHS, and even runs a small jewelry business. Julianna has experience tutoring Spanish (up to 4AP), Biology (up to 1H), and AP Psychology. She received 5s on both AP Biology and AP Psychology exams, and a 4 on the AP Spanish Language Exam. In addition, Julianna loves babysitting and working with children of all ages. She has 4 years of experience volunteering at the Valmonte Early Learning Academy summer program and has worked with disabled children as well.
Hannah is a 17-year-old high school senior at Chadwick School. She has over 7 years of programming experience, and has been teaching kids programming for 4 years. Hannah has taught coding camps over the summer for the past 3 years, and does private tutoring for the fundamentals of coding. She has also been on First Robotics Competition and VEX Robotics competition teams. Hannah loves working with kids, and can teach classes of up to 15 kids.
Eli is a second-year student at the University of California, Berkeley who intends to Major in Economics and Minor in Data Science. He is from Napa, California, and attended Vintage High School. Other than school, Eli was a member of the baseball team at Cal as a Right-Handed Pitcher in his freshman year. In his free time, Eli enjoys golfing, cooking, and exploring the Bay Area.
Caleb is a first year Materials Engineering student at Cal Poly SLO. He is good with most STEM subjects and can tutor in those classes as well as others. He played basketball in high school and scored a 34 on the ACT and a 1450 on the SAT.
Melissa Qin is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, where she has a weighted GPA of 5.0 and an unweighted GPA of 4.0. She is a member of Chinese National Honors Society, runs the FCLA nonprofit organization, is on the board of Young Aspiring Politicians Club and has done biomedical research at City of Hope Medical Center. In addition, she heads her own TSA Team, participates in Speech and Debate and Teen Court. She is an AP Scholar and received a 780 on her Chemistry Subject Test. She can tutor Chemistry(up to AP), Chinese(up to AP), and Algebra(up to 2 Honors).
Sophia Goodin is a senior at the University of Arizona, where she is earning her BFA in Acting and a minor in Spanish. She is a student in the Honors college with a GPA of 3.981, has been on the Dean’s list for consecutive semesters, and receives scholarships for her academic achievements. She has been trained in acting and photography by industry professionals, and has additionally studied theatre abroad in the U.K. and in Russia. She currently serves as president of a campus club, Theatre Artists and Performers, that focuses on providing outreach and performance opportunities to students and the community. Sophia attended PVPHS and was a member of the school’s chapters of the National Honors Society, the National English Honors Society, the National Spanish Honors Society, the National History Honors Society, the California Scholarship Federation, and co-president of the International Thespian Honors Society. She took AP courses including European History (Score: 5), Spanish Language (Score: 5), Psychology (Score: 5), Statistics (Score: 3), Microeconomics (Score: 4), U.S. Government and Politics (Score: 3), and English Literature and Composition (Score: 4). Her highest cumulative SAT score was 2260/2400. She received a 790/800 on the SAT Subject Test for Literature and a 710/800 for the SAT Subject Test for Spanish Language. During her time in high school, she volunteered with Novas, the PVPHS Drama Club, and the PVPHS Link Crew. She graduated from PVPHS in 2017 with a GPA of 3.96, and has since worked as a babysitter, tutor, and performing arts teacher in the Palos Verdes Peninsula community.
Megan Hwang is a senior at Peninsula High this year serving as the ASB Vice President and is involved in other organizations on campus such as being a member of NHS Board, Social Science NHS, Math NHS, Teen Court, and Yearbook editor. She frequently volunteers with children with disabilities through organizations such as Ready, Willing, and Able and Camp Escapades. Megan has experience with kids of all ages since she’s been a camp counselor at Country Day Camp for the past 3 years. She also enjoys playing piano and recently completed level 10 advanced of Piano Certificate of Merit. Another one of her passions is dancing as she was on both Peninsula High’s Varsity Dance Team and Choreo Company where she both choreographed and competed. She would love to babysit, tutor, teach piano, or teach dance and she is CPR certified.
Joshua Belofsky will be attending University of Chicago in the fall. He graduated from PVPHS where he was a member of Science National Honors Society, National Honors Society, Science Bowl, Physics Bowl, Physics Olympiad, TSA, Deeper Learning AI club, Stellar Xplorers, Science Research, varsity tennis and varsity surfing. He has two real-world engineering intern experiences and is a published researcher having attended PVPSEF and receiving first in Peninsula’s engineering category as well as attending LACSEF and receiving Intel’s Excellence in Computer Science Award. He can tutor AP Computer Science, Math (up to Pre-Calculus), and History (World H and European AP). In addition to academics Joshua offers private tennis or surfing lessons.
Mati Yang will be attending the University of Chicago in the fall studying Environmental Science. She graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She is part of the National Math Honors Society, California Scholarship Federation, ASB, TSA, and Model United Nations. She was also the head photographer of her school's yearbook. Mati received a 35 on her ACT and has taken a wide variety of A.P. courses. She is available in tutoring for chemistry (up to A.P.), A.P. US history, Chinese (up to A.P.), and A.P. Physics 1.

I recently graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School where I was involved in Model United Nations and was also the Editor-In-Chief for the Yearbook. In college, I hope to double major in French and Biopsychology. I can help in most subjects including French, History, Science, and English. I am excited to meet and help any student succeed!
Eliza is a 17 year old high school senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She is a part of Link Crew, volunteers at Sunrise Senior Living Center, has 4 years babysitting experience and one year tutoring experience. She is adept at handling difficult and chaotic situations, and can babysit up to 4 kids at one time. Recently, she has discovered a knack for helping others write their college applications and formulate their list based on what features they desire in a university. With this, she is equipped to tutor student of all ages.
Catie Tagha is an incoming junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. Catie loves to help others and enjoys working with kids of all ages. She has been babysitting and petsitting for her neighbors for years as well as walks her own dogs regularly. Ben is a second year student at UC Berkeley who intends to study Business Administration and US History. He is from Pasadena, CA and attended high school at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Cañada, CA. Outside of academics, Ben has played both team and individual sports throughout his life and continues to remain a highly competitive golfer. Aly will be a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in the fall. She has been practicing her photography skills for over 3 years through her position as a photographer for her school yearbook and enjoys having fun photo shoots with her friends. Aly would also love to tutor freshman and below in all subjects, however she specializes in biology. She has completed Biology Honors and AP Biology, receiving A’s each semester. Aly has lots of experience working with children through the Friendship Foundation and other organizations. She babysits for children of all ages.
